How BePure supports your health

Within the natural health industry in New Zealand, there is currently no industry-specific, regulatory framework to protect the trust and safety of those who choose to use or receive natural health support or hold those who operate in this space to a high standard. We are hopeful that this is something that will change in the coming years, as more people experience how powerful the holistic health foundations of diet, lifestyle and nutrition can be in supporting health and wellness.

Until more detailed practice regulations and accreditation exist for this industry in New Zealand, BePure is committed to creating and upholding our own high personal standards to hold ourselves accountable. At BePure we are passionately committed to supporting your health within the holistic fundamentals of diet, lifestyle and nutrition.

We work alongside GPs and other medical professionals, supporting your overall wellness. We do not treat, diagnose or cure, and with your safety as our utmost priority, we always strongly suggest our clients seek the support of their GP or relevant health practitioner if there is a cause for concern.

We set realistic expectations for our clients and customers. While we provide the tools, education and support, it is ultimately our goal for you to be empowered to use these tools and make decisions about what is best serving your health.

Our skilled BePure Nutritional Health Support team are on hand to provide anyone, at any stage of their health journey with free guidance and support.

The team are qualified to degree level in areas such as Human Nutrition, Dietetics, Neuroscience and Psychology and have been through a rigorous training programme to equip them with the knowledge they need to be able to truly support our community.

Being passionate about your health, we’re also passionate about ensuring the people supporting you are highly qualified, trained and experienced in supporting you on your health journey.

All BePure Holistic Health Consultants go through a rigorous hiring process and 3 week training programme during onboarding. It is also required that they are university qualified or have extensive experience in health coaching.

The BePure Clinical Director and Clinical Manager also oversee the clinic practice and clients, providing access to sophisticated reference materials, processes for updating protocols and ongoing professional development of our consultants.

When it comes to helping people with their health and wellness we believe it takes the support of a community to get the best results for that person. This is why we are building our own BePure Committee of Advisors, a community of experts, external to BePure, to support and guide us in helping you.

This committee of external advisors, who are all experts in their fields, will support us with our internal regulations and guide us as we grow.

Further to this, BePure recently opened our very own testing laboratory. The BePure Lab is the first of its kind in New Zealand, providing you with easy, at home gold standard functional testing.

Being firmly committed to ongoing research, we employ a dedicated, evidence-based BePure research team, whose role it is to source, collate, share and distribute leading research from within BePure and around the world.

The BePure Lab employs state of the art technology and patented methods to maintain the integrity of our results. These methods, testing and processing are performed and managed by two PhD level lab scientists.

We educate and empower you with tools and knowledge on the foundations of diet, lifestyle and nutrition. Our aim is for you to eventually feel confident enough to support your own balanced health. And, when you do reach this point, BePure are always there to support you if and when you need us.

  • We work alongside and complement the medical model, including health practitioners such as GPs and other medical professionals to support your overall health and wellness. BePure works within the foundations of diet, lifestyle and nutrition to support overall wellness, while the medical model supports you with diagnosis, treatments and medications for diagnosed health conditions.
  • Your health and safety are always of our utmost priority. If we observe any cause for concern with a member of our community, customer or client, we strongly recommend that they seek the support of a Doctor, Psychologist, Psychiatrist or other relevant health practitioner on their health journey.
  • It is not BePure's place to advise you on your use of medication. If a health practitioner has prescribed you medication, we emphasise that it is important you continue to follow this treatment plan while we work with you on your wellness.
  • Our products do not aim treat, cure, diagnose or prevent any specific physiological conditions. They are designed to support the body’s natural and normal function.
  • We set realistic expectations for our clients and customers and emphasise that there is no guaranteed outcome for all. No one person is alike, your body, genetics and lifestyle are all unique. How one person responds to our products, programmes and protocols may be very different from another.
  • While we support you, your health is your responsibility. BePure is passionate about providing you with education and support to reach your goals, but it is ultimately up to you to use these tools and make decisions about what is best serving your health.

3. Passionate: Rigorous standards and training

The team of BePure Holistic Health Consultants are highly qualified and trained to support our clients on their health journey.

Here are just a few ways we ensure this

A rigorous recruitment processing the hiring and onboarding. Every consultant is screened via a phone interview, undergoes two face to face interviews and is thoroughly reference checked.

    • We require our consultants be university educated in one of the following areas; Human Nutrition, Dietetics, Naturopathy, Food Science, Natural Medicine, Nursing, Psychology or Biology. Otherwise, we require that they have extensive training and experience with health coaching.
    • The majority of our consultants have also studied for further qualifications such as Fertility Management, Holistic Health Coaching, Herbal Medicine, and Coaching practices and techniques.
    • We promote transparency around levels and subjects of qualification of our consultants for the public. Therefore all of our BePure Holistic Health Consultant and BePure Nutritional Health Support profiles and qualifications are displayed on our meet the clinic team page.
    • BePure provides an intensive training process when our consultants start their roles with us. All consultants complete a 2-3 week full-time training programme with BePure to upskill in the most relevant and up to date nutritional and lifestyle knowledge and research.     • BePure provides continual upskilling and development via training sessions from our BePure Research team and the BePure Clinical Manager and BePure Clinical Director.
    • The Clinical Director and Clinical Manager oversee the clinic practice and clients, providing access to sophisticated reference materials, processes for updating protocols and ongoing professional development of our consultants.

We are currently in the process of establishing and confirming this committee. Once the names and positions of those involved have been confirmed we intend to share these on our website for full transparency.

With our focus on progression, BePure recently opened our very own testing laboratory. The BePure Lab is the first of its kind in New Zealand, providing you with easy, at home gold standard functional testing.

Our lab is led by two PhD level lab scientists who manage testing methods and processing. More detail on the BePure Lab and the team’s profiles and qualifications can be viewed on our Meet Lab team page.

All procedures at the BePure Lab are developed and will continue to be refined, with IANZ standards of practice in mind. All equipment used in the laboratory is also in line with IANZ standards. Upon finalising all processes, the intention is to undergo IANZ accreditation for our laboratory.

Being firmly committed to ongoing research, we employ a dedicated, science-based BePure research team, whose role it is to source, collate, share and distribute leading research from within BePure and around the world. This then guides the direction of our consulting, product development, programmes and testing.

We know that having this resource allows us to ensure you receive the best service and support from us on your health journey.

At the BePure Lab, we use state of the art gas chromatography mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry to asses metabolites excreted in urine. The laboratory uses patented methods externally developed and validated by Leeder Analytical chemistry and maintains the integrity of results through utilising established internal standards during the testing process.

This lab technology allows us to provide you with more transparency into your body, giving you the tools to make a more informed decision about how to best move forward with your health and wellness.

As we generate large numbers of test results at the BePure Lab, it also allows us to perform our own evidence-based research into what best supports great health. Natural health is an area that is growing rapidly, and judging by the number of studies being published around the world that are gaining more insight into this space, it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down! It is our ambition to play a significant role in helping to advance this space.
