BePure Chocolate Smoothie Recipe

In nature, there’s an 80% correlation between nutrient density and sugar content.

For example, if you eat a banana that is sweeter - often riper - there is more nutrition in it. Throughout evolution, our clever bodies have come to know this and so now we seek out the sweetest available food.

The problem is sugar is added to 4 out of 5 products at the supermarket. If you'd like to learn more about added sugars you can read my blog post, ' 6 Tips for Reducing Sugar Easily and Gently.'

These modern added sugars are stripped of the fibre and nutrient density and do not give our bodies the nourishment we actually need and you'll continue to experience cravings. If you find yourself frequently craving sugar, it could be a sign that your body is craving micronutrients, such as zinc, magnesium, B Vitamins, Vitamin C, selenium and more

Addressing key nutritional deficiencies will take time and craving sweets, like chocolate, can be tough to handle. Substituting quick fixes, like lollies and chocolate, for nourishing, whole food options will provide your body with the nutrition it actually needs and will help reduce your cravings over time.

Naturally sweetened with dates and honey, the BePure Chocolate Smoothie is a delicious smoothie that you can treat yourself with. It will satisfy your sweet craving with it has the added benefit of minerals and fibre (in the dates). This recipe serves 2 and should be enjoyed on occasion without guilt.
