The BePure nutritional team have been busy developing a new detox programme, which we first started using through the BePure Clinic a few months ago. We’ve put most of our clients through the detox programme and have seen some very promising results.

Each and every day our bodies are exposed to all kinds of toxins, more now in our modern world, than ever before. From those we ingest through what we eat, drink and put on our skin, to those found in our environment and the toxins that are made as a by-product within our body.

Your liver is your major detoxification organ and the cleansing house of all these toxins. It filters toxins out of the bloodstream and processes them so that they can be excreted via your bowel or urine. Over time, your liver’s ability to detoxify efficiently can become impaired due to the continual loading, and toxins can then become stored as body fat so they’re not causing harm to your vital organs.

Excessive toxins left long enough in the body can present a whole host of problems and health concerns. When your liver eliminates these toxins, it releases them into your lymphatic system, kidneys and blood. Therefore detoxing is not as simple as only focusing solely on the liver, but we need to also flush the lymphatic system, kidneys and the blood.

When to detox:

Below are some diet and lifestyle factors that over time can have an impact on the liver:

  • Do you drink caffeinated beverages daily?
  • Do you eat margarine or foods made with hydrogenated fats (packaged foods)?
  • Do you take birth control pills?
  • Are you on estrogen or hormone replacement therapy?
  • Have you taken antibiotics during the past 12 months?
  • Do you avoid fats or eat a low fat diet?
  • Are you on regular medications?
  • Do you often crave, sweets, breads and other high-carbohydrate foods?
  • Do you eat pasta, potatoes, bread or other carbohydrates two or more times a day?
  • Does at least one meal a day contain processed and or packaged foods?
  • Do you eat fewer than two servings of protein a day (e.g. meat, eggs or fish) daily?
  • Do you drink fewer than 8 glasses of water a day?
  • Do you have less than 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day?
  • Do you regularly sleep fewer than 8 hours a night?
  • Do you lead a high-stress life?

If you answered ‘yes’ to three or more of the questions above, you may benefit from doing a detox.

When not to detox:

If there are any cautions or contraindications to the supplements involved in the detoxification protocol.

I would advise against a detox for individuals with:

  • Anaemia
  • Cancer
  • Type 1 Diabetes
  • Heart Disease
  • Kidney Disease
  • Pregnant

Please note, the programme can make the contraceptive pill ineffective.

The BePure Detox

Just like any of our BePure programmes, this detox has been created by myself and my team at the highest clinical standard. It's also been tried and tested by many of our staff and clients. As always, our priority is health and wellness. This programme is a significant investment and goes well beyond any juice cleanse or lemon water detox, as described below.

The programme is designed to work by providing the body with the specific nutrients it needs to up-regulate specific enzyme pathways throughout the body so that it can target built up toxins and stimulate the release of them out of the body.

The 14 day detox combines a diet made up of specific fats, proteins, nutrient dense vegetables and moderate amounts of fruits. The programme also includes specific thermogenic herbs and spices, cleansing diuretic beverages, practitioner only nutritional supplements and lifestyle factors that in combination are all designed to boost the metabolism, decrease water retention and promote detoxification through the liver, lymphatic system and kidneys.

Below is what’s included with the BePure Detox Programme package:

- The Detox booklet that takes you step-by-step through the programme.

- Practitioner only nutritional supplements – Thermophase Detox Essentials, G-Tox Express, Digestex.

- Pysllium husks

- 4 x bottles of unsweetened cranberry juice.

- 2 x 15 minute consultations with a BePure nutritionist, as well as email and phone support throughout the programme.

We’re using practioner only nutritional products so before you start the programme we need to have a 15 minute consultation to make sure its right for you. The cost of the package is $490.
