Bedtime Journalling for Better Sleep

Did you know that your thoughts can affect your nervous system too? Your body is listening to the chatter in your head.

If that chatter has kept you up at night, you'll know that trying to ignore all that noise is much easier said than done. However, giving them some air time can actually help clear our minds, and allow us to enter 'rest and digest' mode, and get to sleep easier.

We've come up with these three prompts to help you clear anything on your mind that might be keeping you from entering the land of nod with ease.

Gather your bubble with your pens and papers—you don't need to be a writer to benefit from journaling!

3 x Journaling Prompts

  • What are three things you can let go of? Has anything annoyed, upset, frustrated, or worried you from today or this week? (This could be a long list at the moment!) If it's beyond your control, invite in acceptance, and bid it farewell.
  • What are three things you feel grateful for? It's easy to embody gratitude when everything is going well, but what's even more powerful, is being able to invite in gratitude when things aren't going to plan.
  • What are three things you are looking forward to? Having taken the thought-trash out, we have room to think about the things that light us up and make us feel good. Actively acknowledging things we're looking forward to—tomorrow, or in the more distant future—opens the doors for hope and excitement.

Of course, these prompts can be as personal as you'd like, but if there are any answers you are happy to share, we would love to see what you have to say.

Happy journaling, and sweet dreams!
